The bullion coin with the world's largest mintage

The Maple Leaf gold coin is minted in Canada and is the bullion coin with the largest mintage worldwide. It has been minted since 1979, making it the second oldest bullion coin in the world after the South African "Krugerrand". The appearance varies slightly depending on the year of issue. Over time, additional security features have been added and the Queen's profile has been adapted to her age. In 2024, following the Queen's death, the Maple Leaf will appear with the portrait of Charles for the first time.

The gold Maple Leaf is available in different sizes: from 1/1 ounce, 1/2 ounce, 1/4 ounce, 1/10 ounce and 1/20 ounce. Since 2014, there has also been the smallest variant with a weight of just 1g.
