The gold coin Maple Leaf is minted in Canada and is the bullion coin with the largest mintage in the world. It has been minted since 1979 and is thus the second oldest bullion coin in the world after the South African "Krugerrand". Depending on the vintage, the appearance differs slightly. Thus, in the course of time, additional security features were added and also the profile of the Queen was adapted to her age.

The gold Maple Leaf is available in different sizes: from 1/1 ounce, 1/2 ounce, 1/4 ounce, 1/10 ounce and 1/20 ounce. Since 2014, there is also the smallest variant with a weight of only 1g.
