Known for its near-natural forests is the area of the Kalkalpen National Park in Upper Austria.

The side of the coin shows in the foreground an endemic flower of the Limestone Alps, the Dark Bellflower. On the back right, views of this flower are arranged two-dimensionally. The Latin name of the flower, "Campanula Pulla", is written in the round below. - In the background of the other side are depicted the main ridge of the Sengsen Mountains and dense forests, in the foreground a lynx.
