The Austrian Mint is the official mint of the Republic of Austria, based in Vienna. Its predecessor institutions date back to the 12th century. As early as the 16th century, the then "Vienna Mint" issued the first golden ducats, which are still popular gold coins today. Since 1989, the Vienna Philharmonic has been one of the best-known and most popular gold coins in the world.
