Former currency of Austria

Crowns were the successor currency to the guilder and were minted in Austria between 1892 and 1916. A gold currency was introduced in Austria for the first time with the currency reform in 1892. The unit of account for the new currency was gold, although the crown coin was initially made of silver. Today's 10 Kronen, 20 Kronen and 100 Kronen gold coins are restrikes of the Austrian Mint and are very suitable as investment coins.
