""The Snake" 2013 | Australian Lunar Series 2 | $100 | Gold Coin" noted for sale.
To the purchase basket
The most important differences compared to the Lunar Series 1 are the more modern motif design and the increased diameter of the coins. Furthermore, the information on the year of minting and fineness have been moved from the motif side to the value side.
The term "lunar" comes from the Latin word "luna" (moon). The Chinese lunar calendar, like the "solar" calendar known in our latitudes, i.e. aligned with the sun, belongs to the category of lunisolar calendars - i.e. calendars that have the lunar and/or solar cycle as their basis. The cycle of the 12 animal signs is used in Chinese astrology, with a corresponding animal being assigned to each year-12-month cycle.
