To determine the gold content, we carry out an exact test using test acid. In Austria, most jewelry is made of 14 carat gold. This corresponds to a gold content (=carat) of 585‰ or 58.5 percent. However, your gold may also have a different gold content, such as 750 gold, which corresponds to 18 carat. The higher the purity of your pieces, the higher the price.
