To the purchase basket
A showpiece of the series "Crowns of the Habsburgs" is the Crown of St. Stephen of Hungary. 16 grams of pure gold and the minting quality "Proof" make this piece particularly valuable. The nominal value is 100 euros, the edition is limited to 30,000 pieces.
The Crown of St. Stephen takes its name from the first Christian king of Hungary, who today is also the national saint of the country. It is the majestic third coin in the popular series "Crowns of the Habsburgs".
Wonderfully realized is the depiction of the crown on the front with the characteristic crooked cross. This was the source of much speculation over many centuries. Allegedly, the crown was damaged during a theft and the cross was bent. More likely, however, is the explanation that the cross was damaged by the heavy lid of the casket in which the crown was kept.
