2000 years of Christianity
This Austrian commemorative coin commemorates 2000 years of Christianity and was produced by the Austrian Mint. On the occasion of this anniversary year, it was issued with the title 'the Bible'. An accompanying certificate guarantees the authenticity of the gold coin; in addition, the coin is also recognized as legal tender in the Republic of Austria. The obverse of the commemorative coin shows the Apostle Paul, recognizable by his beard and half bald head, in an antique robe with a sash, reading from a Bible scroll with Hebrew letters, to which he points with the index finger of his right hand. He is carrying a palm branch as a symbol of the early martyrs.
