To the purchase basket
This unusual bullion coin is issued since 2018 by the Australian mint Perth Mint with a low mintage with 5,000 copies. It is dedicated to the Australian emu, which is one of the most famous animals from Australia, along with the kangaroo and the bird kookaburra. The motif side of the gold coin Emu shows annually changing depictions of Great Emus and next to it the mint mark "P" for the Perth Mint.
The Great Emu is a flightless ratite native to Australia. The smaller species became extinct in the 19th century. With a height of up to 190 cm and a weight of up to 45 kg, the Great Emu is the largest and heaviest ratite in Australia. The name of the coin is stamped at the top of the motif side. The year as well as the most important specifications are indicated in the lower edge area. The value side of the emu gold coin shows Ian Rank Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
