The gold coin "Heidentor Carnuntum" was released on November 22, 2000 as part of the gold coin series "Art Treasures of Austria".
Both sides of the gold coin "Heidentor Carnuntum" were designed by Herbert Wähner.
The obverse of the gold coin shows Emperor Constantine II in the ceremonial armour of a Roman general, holding in his right hand a goddess of victory with a laurel wreath standing on a globe symbolizing the world; in his left hand he carries both a spear as a symbol of readiness for war and an olive branch as a symbol of readiness for peace.
