This coin was issued in 2011 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Joanneum in Graz, a very special museum. It is extremely artistically designed and carefully minted. Traditional and modern motifs shine on precious gold.
The value side shows the beautiful museum building and its impressive portal, through which you enter the Universalmuseum Joanneum. The modern Kunsthaus can be seen behind it. It is affectionately called "Friendly Alien" by its creators. Carefully trimmed shrubs and the River Mur follow the modern style. The second side shows the Graz State Armory. It houses the largest surviving armory in the world.
