Aus the Eyes of the Continents series
His red sparkling eyes, made of Swarovski® crystals, shine with vitality. The king of beasts, as he is called in Asia, has no natural enemies, but many admirers. Since time immemorial, the people of Asia have admired its striking beauty.
The King of the Jungle
Since time immemorial, the king of beasts has lived in Asia. The cultural history of this continent is densely populated by tigers. All strength and power is attributed to them. In China, the big cat was and still is a symbol of strength and bravery. It also plays an important role in Hinduism: the many-armed goddess Durga is often depicted riding a tiger.
As a power animal, the tiger is considered a peaceful being, but also one that knows how to fight when it counts. The Chinese "Year of the Tiger" began on 1 February 2022.
The coin designs
The side of the coin depicts a tiger in motion in the centre. Next to him, a bamboo grove is indicated. The motif is surrounded by an ornament that is reminiscent of mandalas, diagrams that had a magical significance in the cult practices of Hinduism and Buddhism.
The other side shows the mighty head of a tiger, whose face seems to be decorated with dot-shaped jewellery scars. Its crystal eyes from Swarovski® shine powerfully. By the way, the colour red stands for strength and energy.
