About this product

Special: 20 pieces silver owl 1 ounce in aluminum case (diff.)

Interesting: More than 2,000 years ago, the Attic tetradrachm with the owl motif was the most influential coin in the world. Because: the owl symbolizes strength, wisdom and knowledge. With a small premium on the actual silver value, the silver bullion coin is an official means of payment with a nominal value of 2 dollars. What makes the coin special is not only its beauty and historical value, but also its fluted edge. This edge allows the investor to easily store the coins, as the fluting allows them to interlock and stack perfectly. The design side of the coin features the majestic owl standing on a branch against a hammered, reflective background. Its large, also reflective eyes are turned towards the viewer.

To the right of the owl are three Greek letters: AΘE (A = alpha, Θ = theta and E = epsilon). AΘE (A-TH-E) is the ancient Greek abbreviation for Athens - the actual issuer of the tetradrachm that served as the model for this coin. To the left of the owl is an olive branch, the symbol for peace, and a crescent moon. Underneath the coin is the words, "1OZ .999 FINE SILVER". The reverse of the coin shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on a reflective, hammered background, as well as the lettering: "ELIZABETH II NIUE TWO DOLLARS" and the respective year of minting.
