To the purchase basket
The "Fiji Taku" silver coin, whose name is a combination of the issuing country, the Fiji Islands and the local name for the turtle "Taku", was the first bullion coin with such an animal motif in 2013. In 2014, parallel to the silver version, the identical sea turtle motif appeared on a coin issued by the island state of Niue. At the same time, the coin name changed to "Niue Turtle" or just "Turtle".
The motif side shows a swimming "hawksbill turtle", surrounded by air bubbles, which belongs to the sea turtles and can weigh up to 75 kg and reach a size of 90 cm. It is on the list of endangered species of the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species. The word "TURTLE" is also embossed on the left edge of the coin. Below the turtle we see the minting "1oz 999.9 FINE SILVER". The edge is fluted. The value side features the head of state of the Commonwealth of Nations, Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain.
