The Mexican Onza

The Mexican gold coins, also known as onza among locals, have no face value but are still considered official currency in Mexico. The obverse shows "Victoria", the goddess of victory, with two volcanoes in the background. The motif has remained unchanged since 1996.

The reverse is adorned with an eagle, the Mexican heraldic animal, holding a snake with its talons.
