The coins in the Lunar series depict the animals of the Chinese zodiac. The changing motif always shows the animal of the year. The Lunar coins are issued by the Australian Perth Mint and are available in gold and silver. The motifs on the gold and silver coins differ. As the cycle of the Chinese zodiac signs repeats every 12 years, there are already 3 series of Lunar coins: Lunar I, Lunar II & Lunar III.
