The ducat is one of the most famous bullion coins in Europe - popular for hundreds of years. The ducat or ducat consists of 98.6% gold and a small proportion of copper, which makes the coin somewhat harder. This alloy is even known as "ducat gold". In Austria in particular, the gold ducat is a very popular coin for investors or is often given as a gift and bought back by all banks and precious metal dealers.
Ducats were the official means of payment in Austria until the middle of the 19th century and continued to be minted as commercial gold coins until 1915. Today's restrikes are produced as investment coins. All gold ducats bear the imprint "franc ios i d g avstriae imperator" (Franz Joseph the First by the Grace of God Emperor of Austria) and the restrikes usually bear the year 1915.
The offered 1-fold ducats are available as 20 pieces in the original, sealed tube of the Austrian Mint.
