Gümüş para schilling Avusturya'da uzun bir geleneğe sahiptir ve uzun süre popüler bir hediye olmuştur. Avronun 2002 yılında yürürlüğe girmesinden bu yana normal bir ödeme aracı olarak önemini yitirmiştir. Ancak külçe para veya koleksiyoncu parası olarak hala popülerdir. Nadir bulunan ve bu nedenle koleksiyoncular için özellikle ilginç olan, örneğin 1964 tarihli 10 şilinlik sikkedir.
