Shilling coins price comparison - top silver investment

Looking at the price of silver, we see that after years of stagnation, silver climbed to a new high in the summer of 2020 and since then the price for the precious metal has been consolidating at a high level. Silver is just like gold and other precious metals very well suited to hedge your own assets. Especially as an admixture in the portfolio silver makes perfect sense.

Investment silver in price comparison

As with investment gold, the general rule for silver is that the larger the denomination, the lower the premium. Simply because the costs for production, distribution and trading of, for example, a 1 ounce silver bar differ only marginally from the costs for a silver bar with a weight of 1kg.

Therefore, with larger units you always get a little more for your money!

With silver, however, we currently have a special feature! Because the cheapest silver is currently available when buying differentially taxed silver shilling coins.

Calculated on the gram, you pay the least for silver here! Or differently: With silver shilling coins you get the most silver for your money.

Example:

Buying a differentially taxed coin roll with 40 pieces of 50 ATS silver coins made of 900 silver at Gold & Co, the gram of fine silver costs you the equivalent of only 0.80 euros.

40 pieces of coins of 20 grams each, give 800 grams of rough weight. Since the coins are made of 900 silver, this gives a fine weight of 720 grams. At a price of 577.90 (as of March 2021), this results in a price of just 80 cents per gram.

By way of comparison, a gram of fine silver currently costs €0.91 for an equally differentially taxed silver Vienna Philharmonic (1 fine ounce = 31.1 grams).

Even if you buy an Argor-Heraeus 1kg silver bar, the gram of fine silver costs 0.89 euros.

At Gold &Co we sell silver shilling coins as action silver also in 5kg units at best conditions.

Shilling Nominal Value vs. Silver Material Value

Unlike gold coins, there is often only a slight difference between the nominal value and material value of silver coins. Thus, with silver coins you get the benefit of a double hedge: If the silver price falls sharply, silver coins retain their nominal value in any case.

Silver shillings with a nominal value of 25, 50, 100 and 500 schillings can still be exchanged for their nominal value in euros at the Austrian National Bank.
